Tech, Data, and Engineering Career Peer Leaders provide administrative support and perspective to the Tech, Data, and Engineering Community (TDE) in the Center for Career Engagement. This community/team educates and coaches students and alumni who are interested in fields such as technology, computer science, product development, data and data science, data and technology consulting, engineering, as well as students exploring different career fields.
You will have an opportunity to grown personally and professionally while further developing skills in communication, teamwork, leadership, and project management. You will gain mentorship from Center for Career Engagement team members.
TDE Student Assistants will work at WashU Center for Career Engagement during the academic year 2024-25. Career Peer Leaders will be assigned projects and tasks that help the community function and grow, such as:
- Engaging in career development research and data analysis
- Compiling trends and best practice features/stories for regular community newsletter
- Serving as ambassador representing the TDE Career Community as needed
- Attending and participating in weekly team meetings
- Assisting with development of materials (Canva/PowerPoint slides, handouts, etc.)
- Providing advising to fellow peers on various career related subjects
Note: students are limited to a maximum of 19 hours total per week across all WashU student workers positions
Requirements
Candidates must be:
- A currently enrolled, full-time WashU undergraduate or graduate student in St. Louis for the fall 2024 semester
- Able to work 5-10 hours per week, between the hours of 9:30-5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours available.
- Familiar with the Center for Career Engagement (CCE) and services offered
- Able to attend a 2-hour training prior to your first shift
