What do you get to do in this position?
Schneider Electric’s Digital Buildings Engineering Development Program is designed for individuals who are interested in developing their skills in the field of engineering and gaining real-world experience through hands-on projects and customer interactions. As a participant in this 5-month program, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, shadow engineers, work directly with customers, and attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your technical skills, soft skills, and knowledge. After completing the 6-month program, you will move into a Systems Application Engineer role.
The Systems Application Engineer position is typically held by someone who is new to the industry and/or recent college graduate. The individual’s experience may be limited as is their exposure to our specific business. This position is responsible for learning how to understand project requirements such as specifications, standards, budgets, schedules, and safety. Participates in project activities on site related to the coordination, installation, and commissioning of building automation and security management systems. This employee typically works under daily supervision of a Project Manager or Project Engineer and reports into a Construction Manager
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews specifications, drawings and estimates
- Resolves design issues through RFI’s, field surveys and documentation materials tracking
- Creates standard start up and checkout documentation
- Assists in job close out by providing final record drawings
- Assist in developing hardware standards and streamline processes
- Designs hardware submittals at a basic level or at an intermediate level with mentor support
- Maintain and adhere to standards for estimating and budgeting hardware designs
- Other duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
- Strong desire to learn and grow as an engineer
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited to, the ability toinfluence and persuade internal and external customers, listen effectively, and solicit input from others.
- An understanding of HVAC, access or other building or electronic control systems.
- Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills including, but not limited to, the ability to handle multiple demands and assignments, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently, and the ability to manage resource procurement and utilization.
