As a Mechanical Engineer , you will develop solutions and implement projects that improve the process and reliability of Monolith’s OC1 facility. This role performs mid to expert level break-fix and preventative maintenance alongside the maintenance technicians while providing general guidance for routine mechanical issues.

- You have strong technical knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment (blowers, pumps, steam and piping systems, solids handling equipment, etc.)
- You have an understanding of industrial plant maintenance programs
- Technical degree (bachelor’s preferred) and at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with FMEA, design reviews, asset management/PM programs, and facilitating RCA processes
What You’ll do in the role:
- Learn core technologies of the Monolith carbon black processes to become a subject matter expert on mechanical processes.
- Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data
- Provide support in maintenance (preventive and predictive) processes and procedures being developed and executed
- Own document systems and reporting on asset systems
- Work closely with plant operations, maintenance, leadership, and core technology personnel to resolve issues and develop solutions to mechanical issues
- Engage with stakeholders in the design and conduct design reviews, FMEA, and HAZOPs as appropriate
- Lead root cause analysis of major downtime events
- Be proactive in support of required modifications to maintenance procedures for continuous improvement
- Perform other duties as needed

Your environment:
Minimal travel required. Work will be performed within an outdoor industrial plant environment, as well as an indoor office environment.
