McClure Engineering is continuously seeking qualified Mechanical Engineering students for Internship and Co-Op opportunities to work alongside talented engineers dedicated to engineering excellence on a wide range of projects involving complex building and campus systems.

The Opportunity:
Under the supervision of a more experienced Engineer, an Intern/Co-Op will be exposed to:
- Mechanical: Perform energy and load calculations, airflow and pressure drop calculations, equipment sizing, system design and layout.
- Electrical: Perform electrical design of lighting, power distribution and communication systems including fire alarm systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical Drafter/Designers on the production of construction documents. (drawings and specifications)
- Research commercially available equipment and selecting equipment appropriate for project/client needs.
- Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions.
Required Capabilities and Credentials:
- Successful completion of Junior Year majoring in Mechanical Engineering by start of the Internship.
- G.P.A. – 3.0 cumulative or above.
- Previous engineering internship or related experience strongly preferred.
- Leadership experience in university activities a plus.
- Ability to seek guidance from more experienced Engineers and retain/apply the learnings to future tasks.
- Enjoys getting “hands dirty” as well as using intellectual capabilities.
The Work Environment:
- Work environment is primarily indoors at firms’ facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors/outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by firm.)
- While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
