We are seeking MS/PhD students in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering programs to work with us as research aides and help us in our mission in continued development of Aeronomie. Topics could include modeling propulsion systems, including turbo-prop, turbo-fans, and jet engines; robust controls development for fixed-wing aircraft; development of flight controls for e-VTOL aircraft; trajectory optimization; low-carbon pathways for commercial aviation; development of our simulation tool, Aeronomie.
Position Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution and have completed at least one semester of schooling by the start of the program.
- Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
- Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Desired Skills:
- If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test.
- Experience with modeling and simulation, especially Simulink
- Programming in Matlab or Python
- Modeling of turbo-prop, turbo-fan, and turbojet engines.
- Aircraft design, flight dynamics, and controls
- Trajectory optimization
- eVTOL flight dynamics and controls
- Data processing and analysis
- Controls engineering: Classical and modern control, NLDI, MPC, etc.
