The Next-Gen Profiles project is tasked with characterizing the current electric vehicle (EV) markets’ DC fast charging capabilities. This project has three pillars:
- EV profile capture: Testing production EVs on production chargers under a side range of SOC and temperature boundary conditions, capturing both EV and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) side data.
- EVSE characterization: Characterizing charger capabilities using EV emulators across a series of test cases similar to but not limited to those mentioned above.
- Fleet utilization: Analyzing actual electric fleets (either EV or EVSE side) data in post, creating plots and analysis to understand charging, routing, and temporal utilization rates.
We are looking for someone to aid in EV profile capture data analysis. This involves working with large time-series datasets, python coding, report generation, plotting, etc, and looking for someone with a background in electrical or computer engineering who has a basic understanding of AC power, DC power, and electric vehicle systems (batteries, inverters, motors, 12V system).
